The infra red eyes located at the bottom of your garage door track stops the door incase of children, pets, car and objects are in its path. It is a safety feature that comes with the operator that is mandated by the government.
Go to the bottom of your garage door track and stand in front or behind the infra red eye and look to see if the LED light on the eyes is blinking.(DO NOT BLOCK THE BEAM THAT BOUNCES TO THE OTHER EYE) It should be a solid light. Check both of the infra red eyes, if one of them is blinking gently move the eye until the light stops blinking. The eye can sometimes be knocked out of alignment due to a garbage can, children, animals or even the vibration of the door itself. If it is loose, take a screwdriver and gently tighten the eye.
If there are no lights blinking on the eyes, you may have a bad eye or circuit board. Give us a call at 513-872-0888 to schedule service.
